Crafting QOL suggestions

Postby APXEOLOG » Thu Mar 17, 2016 9:26 pm

Crafting is really annoying. I spend lot's of time to (re)fill all those buckets, move items from stockpiles into the cupboards, drink water every minute etc to just craft some baked goods.

1. Crafting should work with opened barrels and stockpiles. Buckets are annoying
2. Players should be able to open multiple barrels/stockpiles at once
3. Crafting should favor equipped items over inventory (i mean when you have bucket of water equipped and you craft something which require water, it always use water from your waterflask first... and you should always fill it with a bucket to restore stamina... or override bind... more clicks... let's just say it is a big no-no)

If J&L would like to implement the ideas, but don't want to spend time on creating complete ruleset for this mechanic, i can do it.

+1 would love all this, especially if you could open an empty barrel and have it fill into the barrel (or a tanning tub itself) as well for tanning fluid, while having a water barrel open and a stockpile of bark open

You can do this with stockpiles

The solution to this could be having a shared area of crafting where you can acces to all the containers. Higuest qualities should priorize and then its the player problem when it comes to be organized.Ive proposed this several times and I've recomended Jorb to take a look on terraria.
At least current system is quite better than the older.
What is needed right now its an improvement in the pathfinding. Its depresive.

Yes, I hate this one, I try to remember to remove waterskin first when making tanning fluid or baking but that's not always practical and if not you are just constantly having to remember to click it off to use the bucket. As you say, should automatically use the bucket!

Will consider.
