Could we make Taming NOT kill the animals?

Postby ydex » Fri Mar 18, 2016 4:19 pm

hello!
im writing this because my sheep died on the third day of taming and I have seen many ppl with similar problems.
one idea for a sollution, as it is now, seams to be to make a weak alt to do the taming with. Seams like bad game mechanics.

How about making it so we need to withstand x number of turns/attacks from the animals instead of us actually dmging the animal?
Seams like a weird way to tame an animal by basicly punching it rather then making it submit.

Maybe something to think about?
Cheers ! :D

Taming animals reminds me of asdfmovie
>Hey man you wanna play some video games?
>No way dude you always beat me
>*punches him*TELL NO ONE

So yea I agree, taming should look different or atleast make it so that we can't kill the animal.

I agree with topic starter.
The problem is that in the game only one way that allow us to tame animal - to show it who is the daddy here.
I think there must be alternative way of feeding it or so, that slowly will make it domesticaded.
For example, you will need give a clover each time when animal becomes ready to fight, and this will give 5% of taming.

Have you tried to GIT GUD?
Don't chop the fucker. Use punch. This should really be common sense.
If you hit too hard, just hit them when they have defenses up. Your attacks should pierce their defenses for a reduced amount of damage. If you're having a problem hitting too hard but can't break its defense, you're a shitter. And make sure you turn on peace mode so you break combat immediately.

Or just parry spam. It's not hard. I've yet to kill a single animal.

Man, taming is like sex, if you want to show the dominance, you have to do it gently, not piss all over her, gosh..

punch, don't chop.

here just do what i do to tame animals. Ok so first get a sword and have parry in your combat school. If you don't have parry GO GET IT NOW!!!!! Then only have punch, parry, And a number of other defenses in your combat deck. Just always parry so that the sheep will hurt itself and punch to get its defenses down. I have never once killed an animal doing this.

Did you hit the combat button(the thing with 2 swords at the top of tha map) before doing anything? If you did then you are lying to me about something. I'm serious! Like i can't contemplate how you can kill a sheep with just parry and punch if you did un-initiate combat. I mean there is nothing wrong with this system. I suck big time at this game and i still have no issue with taming using this method.
