Archers gimped vs nidbanes

Postby Glorthan » Sun Mar 20, 2016 3:48 pm

I've heard three things:
- Ranged weapons don't hit nidbanes
- Nidbane attack weight is dependant on the highest of ua, mc & mm
- Nidbanes have separate attacks for each colour

This means it is completely infeasible to fight nidbanes as a combat archer, unless your ua is right up with your mm. Further making nidbanes more difficult is the fact that ua is far harder to fight with than mc, as the mc blocks are easy to use to block all colours, and archers have no reason to level mc (without botting shield and sword swapping - gross!) due to bows being two-handed.

What I'm requesting is either:
- Nidbanes don't scale off mm
- Ranged weapons can hit nidbanes

The first option seems the best as ranged combat is pretty full of cheese, and most combat archers need some level of ua, even if it's not as high as their mm.

This is actually quite obivous problem.
Scales from MM but you cant deal dmg with MM?
Wheres the logic.

also a lot of MM players run x5 defences as a combat deck so if there is something that an archer cant even shoot then they are completely screwed

So you commit a crime and don't have a balanced character to deal with retribution.... no sympathy. Sorry!

I believe it is less of that criminals don't have a mean to counter nidbane but more of the fact that archers are the less suited to while melee have a bigger advantage. Compact with the fact that you can't deal lethal damage with archery alone means that they can't leave scents for murder unless they have UA or MC which means that they can still combat the nidbanes; what this means is that archer types are more prone to dying to nidbane for less serious crimes like theft than their CQC counterparts.

Get friends x], they don't start attacking until you move.

On a serious note, the whole nidbane system as a whole is deeply flawed and quite useless, how anyone dies to them is a mystery to me.

But if there are multiple nidbanes waiting, and your friends help, don't they all attack the player at once? Given that a murder nidbane for me would have 2.4x my ua I'm not sure I could even defend against one, it's completely retarded.

We have already discussed this in inner party with jorb multiple times, he knows that it's an issue

Not much use in discussing it further, the fix is clear

Archers are the new hermits - no love is expected for them :D

That's good but what was discussed? Nidbane pointlessness or nidbane immunity against archers?

Archers should not be able to shoot nidbanes, it would make them obsolete and a pointless mechanic
The best fix would be to just not consider marksmanship at all when determining nidbane strength

It makes no sense that a pure archer has to face a stronger nidbane yet be unable to kill it using their area of expertise
