Animals eat too much

Postby evilboy666 » Thu Mar 31, 2016 3:46 pm

Basic. I don't want to farm an area similar to a whole hermit camp just to feed my animals. FYI i only have around 10 animals.

I think it would be less of an issue if you could just select an area to harvest crops from.
Just like paving or making a land survey.

It might not 100% fall in line with your vision on what the problem might be.
But I think that making harvesting less of a carpel tunnel syndrome festivity would certainly take some of the tedium away from it (even with amber client click to harvest), without taking away the time and stamina / energy barrier.

This is somewhat relevant because : If animals eat a lot, large farm area is required, and a lot of clicking is required ;)

I already use the area method. Its not the time or work its the area. I live in a plot and i dont have enough size farm to feed my animals. but i think its a big enough farm for 10 animals thats why i say they eat too much. 5x11 beets and 6x11 carrots, all go into them animals and all the extra seeds from a 43x11 farm.

This can already existing. You do the shift + right click on a grown crop to box an area for the harvest. You can plant in the same way with the shift + right click with the seed.

Yea, was about to edit my post, that I was completely wrong in that regard.

My bad, consider what I said earlier void and stupid.

If all beets go to animals, consider replacing them with carrots.

And don't let your carrots grow fully, harvest them as seed, it will both save you time and produce more.

Bah, that's assuming you are on in time for catch them in the seed stage. I tried that so often last world and just gave up.
