Getting fighting skills is boring as hell

Postby pedorlee » Sun Apr 03, 2016 12:40 pm

Its very boring to fight endlessly to get the skills.
Weak animals die with a couple hits or less and strong animals gives only 1 if you are lucky...

Can this be modified pls?

I dont really like the old system, too op for veterans and a mess for new players.
I mean, thr new system has its logic. You learn new skills by training and finding new situations, like irl, but as ii
Rl there should be the chance to teach what you have learned to someone through spars or maybe practicing against dummy dolls or something like this.
After this patch weve lost the chance to use as dummy dolls the fleeing animals and our chances to get new skills are reduced to 1 beeing lucky.
New players get their equipment destroyed or damaged fighting and hardly get basic new moves, so again we are in a point of inflection where old players who gpt their skills before the patch have a huge diference in moves against the new ones.
Something is missing here imo.

The new system is terrible. The old system was a bit convoluted, for sure, but the new system is dumbed down to the point of being completely pathetic.

EDIT: this was in reply to "I dont really like the old system, too op for veterans and a mess for new players." I thought he was referring to the combat system itself as the old move learning system was easy for new players, and sorry if my post is a bit offtopic.

I like the new combat discovery system, but as granger suggested, it should favour unlearned moves.

I wouldn't describe it as dumbed down (since that would imply it is dead easy to get the discoveries).

My suggestion now that you can't fight fleeing animals endlessly is that animals should at least give the one discovery (they can give in their lifetile) in case you meet the requirements - so you don't have to masssacre hundreds of them to get it. And in case your equipped gear would give the option to get a new move it should take precedence over a known one.

I am spending some three hours yesterday slaughtering the bats to learn some moves. I did not learn all the moves for my time. I can agree that these system is tedium.
