Crated stockpiles & Pallets

1* Spending some boards you can crate a full stockpile, allowing hearthlings to move the stockpile by themselves.

The crate has a sign showing what is crated, like on the barrels.
You can lift the crate and you can open it.
Opening the crate return the stockpile to the previous state.
Opening the crate would either give no boards back or give some boards back.(I would rather not)

Would make moving stockpiles easier obviously and wheelbarrows wouldn't be created en masse for moving a village. Wheelbarrows would be still used as they're faster and their cost is justified by thus.
Knarrs would be able to be used to move stockpiles in a more feasible way.(Ignoring the security problem)
Trading for stockpiles would then be made easier too as you wouldn't need to bring your own wheelbarrow neither grab the seller own wheelbarrow.
Inspecting the crate would tell the average quality of the contents.

2* With boards you could make Pallets.

Would let hearthlings pile up to two crated stockpiles.( as high as a cupboard)
Pallets would be able to be moved normally with no crates on it, but with one/two crates would make the hearthling move as a full boat does now.
Pallets cannot go into any other storage space with crates on it.

More organized and efficient space within the confines of the walls of a village would be awesome. Several crates of farming produce would give a better look than piles upon piles of beets under the sun and wind for several days.

All in all, I hope we can have nice things.
