How Do Wells Work?

My idea for Wells and how they could work so new Players like myself and others dont get confused/irritated on how they actually work.
You build your Well wherever, preferred in your Home/near it so you dont have to run/ride everytime you need Water from a Watersource.
After you build you Well you have basic Water quality of 10 10 10 everyone starts at the same Water quality.
Since the water level always is lowest in the well, water from the surrounding aquifer flows toward the well to replace the water being removed meaning it fills the Well with better quality water, based on your Survival/Exploration/Perception the water quality will increase or decrease (like with chickeneggs) any random amount over time max by 5.
This means if you have 23 in Survival, 29 Exploration, 25 Perception you can get as low as 18 24 20 q or high as 28 34 30 q water from the Well (which would take time since you have to take water from the Well and wait until it is replaced by better quality water), increasing the quality as your Survival and Exploration/Perception Skills go up.

something like that, a Passive/Active (since you have to take water from the well to increase the q of water) leveling system for your well.

maybe add like a pump to the game or something mechanical that we can build out of metal to get superwater out of the ground.

just sharing ideas, thanks for reading, have a good day. :)

I personally am against water passively increasing in quality over time. For one it means that everyone in the game can have the same quality resources and it gives less things to struggle or fight for. However if there were more active ways to increase water quality it would be a different story, e.g. digging a deeper well, filtration, cooking the water I may not have too much of a problem with, as long as the 'improvements' had a cap. e.g. quality 10 well could be improved a bit more if you dug deeper and then added filtration to it, but it couldn't just keep increasing.

I'm all for the 'aquifer' idea, except I'd rather see it so that wells had a limited amount of water that refilled over time depending on water level, rain in game, etc.

Yeah it should be a very slow process to get access to higer quality water with this mechanic.
Since you need to take water from your well so it gets replaced with higher q groundwater/rain after a while.

Please remember from your history lessons that in the times we live ingame the mantra was:
location, location, location.

So no to that idea...
