So, it's always been strange to me that even in Legacy we only had one type of poultry, the chicken, and furthermore, we only had one variety of chicken. We also don't have wild birds anywhere which is a bit bothersome considering you hear them in the audio all the time. So here's my thoughts:
*Add common domesticated poultry types to the game like Ducks, Geese, Turkeys and possibly some lesser common like Guinea fowl and Pheasants.
Ducks, geese and turkeys could grow slower than chickens but provide different things. For example, geese could produce fewer eggs but their eggs could be 1x2 and provide a larger FEP, they like turkeys could also provide more feathers, bones and meat when butchering but they take longer to mature and again don't produce as many eggs over a period of time. Ducks could grow about the same speed or slightly slower than chickens but provide a different FEP type than dex. Ducks, Turkeys and Geese could also be potentially difficult to catch as they could be swimming on waterways and or fly away as soon as you get near them or click on them like rabbits bolt.
*Add varieties of these poultry types as well as for chickens for cosmetic purposes and perhaps some slight difference in production. It probably wouldn't be too much work either as it would just be a texture change on the wild chicken models and a slightly different chicken graphic in the coop, could do the same for ducks etc. Here's a link to a wiki on chicken breeds for an example. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_chicken_breeds We could basically have poultry sort of be like trees and wild wind weed seeds are, they could be specific to an area and people could trade varieties of poultry.
*Perhaps add different types of coops into the game, e.g. chicken tractors that can be moved, could provide a temporary soil bonus after they sit in one spot for awhile or increased production to the coop. For example: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/ ... c_farm.jpg.
Or maybe let us have the option of free ranging our chicken flocks like cows, pigs and sheep, it's kind of weird that they're in coops when they could be foraging, though I suspect they're in coops due to performance reasons and because they were that way in legacy.
*Add wild birds at a minimum to the game for aesthetic purposes, think birds flying around a tree or in the forest, perhaps you could raid nests for eggs or something. Could potentially hunt them as well or capture them to store in houses for decorative purposes. But overall the 'wilderness' needs more critters running about.
