oil and cauldrons

How about if it were possible to fill cauldrons with linseed oil? Think of all the things we could fry!

Tempura
Donuts
Fish and Chips
Fried Chicken

It would also provide another alternative for leather processing, as leather boiled in oil was how hardened leather was traditionally made.

Also, one could dump boiling oil off their stone towers to try to counter raiders. Maybe add scaling palisades and brick walls, and oil as a counter-measure?

Olive oil would be much better for cooking; flaxseed oil produces a lot of smoke.
And tar would produce more harm-causing boiling oil - at least, assuming Stronghold is correct.

why linseed . why not make it possible to use olives for oil. We already have the tree and I suspect Jorb already thought of this.
