Seasons (More Winter stuff and Temperature Effects)

Seasons and Weather.

So that we have to develop a Calendar of sorts? Store food for times when we cant farm. Craft Ski's or snow shoes to cross Wintery snowy terrain. Cold hurts you after a time if you arent wearing fur or warm clothing...

Stuff like this. (Your waterskin freezes too long in the cold) but can be warmed by a fire. So if you get caught in the cold your water might be unavailable.

Food Decay and Spoilage (I know this has been said before but I'm throwing it back out there) >>> Seeing as we now have salt in the game!
- Add "Smoked Meat" Recipes for preservation, and other preservation methods (such as the granary idea)

I like the sound of it but I dont know about it changing seasons across the world. That might make a problem but in places where it snows I could see how cold debuffs and salted meats could ad some good mechanics to the game

I think salt will needing more common if you will make a major game mechanics for it. Also I think a map must be larger maybe? All the map cannot have the same seasons for the same time. Otherwise players who will start in winter will not be having a good time. If the game is getting too easy at some point, this is a sense making and flavor addition I think.

Ya not just salt though. Smoking can be done any time. If you have fire. It just takes longer than covering meat with salt. Plus smoked meat doesn't require to drink as much water, salted does. Dehydrated meat as well and veggies.

I think it would balance itself out.

As for seasons and weather. It would be like the world. More North and more Altitude you go the longer the winters. South is less snow to the point of no snow at all. I'm sure there is a way to work it out.

And I'm always for making the Map as big as it can be haha. It could be 100 times the size it is now and I probably still would want it bigger :P

Seasons are a frequent suggestion, and probably as old as the request for large ships. Let me advance jorbs last reply:

Seasons would be awesome, but it is a ton of work.
