Emptying treeplanters pot

Why do we lose the soil when we empty the treeplanters pot? Yea it "might" be correct for soil+water, but you lose it even when you have nothing but soil in there. The soil should reappear in the inv or be dropped if inv is empty

Why do we lose the food when we empty our stomachs? Will you want to eat previously eaten foods? Will you want to use previously potted soil? This seems to be clear to me. ;)

What? It's clear you didn't get my point. The food we eat gets processed every second its in our body. Its both physically and chemically changed. Thats when you make sense. But the burger we eat would magically come out as a full burger again everyone would be eating "shit" in restaurants believe me. I can't see any difference if i would take some soil, put it in a pot, then take it out.

As I see it, he means - Let us take out soil from pot, if there where no watter added to it yet. And thats sounds logical for me... It is just soil in the pot - nothing have chanded in it. It was just placed in dry container and can be putted out.
On other hand,

that part could make some troubles... The whole tree-planting mechanic should be changed for this non-critical idea to become.

I was being sarcasm. Sometimes I think it will be better to show how absurd the opponent argument must be against yours. Clearly putting dirt in a pot will not modify the dirt. Though, what will be the purpose of doing this? Misclicking dirt into low quality pot?

i think we lose soil because lazy mechanics then we call it a feature and one must 'deal with it'

a lot of hafen/hnh is based around code that was used to get the game up and running but hasn't been revamped or upgraded upon yet. they don't know how to deal with something like combat so they put in something temporary and will get back to it later

Should still be able to remove the dirt whether or not theres water in it. We don't need to get too realistic here. Water does not make dirt just disappear into thin air. Just return the old dirt regardless of the water.

We should be able to add a new seed in case it dies on the table.

We should even be able to take out and put new seeds before we put it sprouts.
