Should probably name it after a group that used to play this game too.

Just a suggestion - make it look somewhat like this in-game:

One could argue, that a heavy two-handed lumberjacking axe should, indeed, cut a tree by a greater percentage per strike, but also take more time and/or stamina for one strike because of weight and size. Then again, that realistic but pointless difference seems to be a bit of an excess with the current tree-cutting system.

I get what you say, trees must just be plaguing me because i set up in a forested area, but i don't know , something just not feel right about using basically a hatchet or a giant battleaxe to cut a tree

anyway sorry for the horrible english

We already have one two-handed annoying, but fast, tool - scythe. Why should two-handed lumberjacking axe be something different? It is faster, but two-handed.
Just. Like. Skythe.
And make blocks of wood depend on cutting tool - it is so dump, that saw determinates the board q, but axe doesn't...

Splitting block does not take skills, it is just cut into pieces. Wood matters only on this one.
Plank make will require finesse to cut these plant to correct specification. Saw and skill matters on this one.
This is sense making for me.

Well... Scythe is faster than hand harvesting, you can't cut trees with your bare hands.

One could argue that a board is way harder to cut properly compared to a block and also that the imperfections of the block have minimal importance. Idea is that boards are much more tool dependent than blocks?

@Ysh - yeah was writing the same ;)

how about a long metal saw that requires two people to operate to cut down a tree? less stamina used and little faster
