Baking Water Prioritization

Postby Burinn » Fri May 06, 2016 7:53 pm

Currently, when you craft dough for a recipe (e.g. blueberry pies) Haven will prioritize water you inventory rather than say a bucket in your inventory. This is highly inconvenient considering you wouldn't want to waste your high quality water for drinking.

So next thing you know you've made four low quality unbaked pastries accidentally because it took water from your inventory before whatever's in your hands. If this could be fixed that'd be great.

The point is I would like to not waste my high quality water for drinking and limit its use to baking. The fact I need to drop my flasks on the ground in order to craft pastries to avoid using low quality water is silly.

Why do you even drop them
Drinking hq water is like 1-5% of what you'll use to bake anyway...

It's a non-zero amount and it doesn't make it any less of a pain in the ass. Wasting high quality materials with low quality water is bad regardless of whether or not it's 1%, 5%, or 100%.

And to the new player without tea?

The answer to what seemingly is an unintentional consequence of the crafting prioritization isn't "just do something else".

How does systems know you will not wanting to drink from your buckets? I think any choice can be arbitrary for this one to do.

My dilemma is that it crafts from your inventory before a water source in your hands. Making dough from a water flask rather than a bucket of water isn't practical and doesn't make sense.

If you're carrying two buckets of water, I can imagine that might be a problem as well. However that's nigh impossible given the quantities of flour/honey/ect. needed for crafting recipes.
