on the job LP

one of the things I do miss from before the curio update is the fact I could do stuff and always have lp as a result. now with the curio system, I find myself time and time again logging out and playing something else as I don't have any lp(and one can only go out and forage for so long). I know this will change as I get more and more into my char(higher int lvls as well as a more developed hermitage to, in turn, give me the ingrediants for more curios) but in the meantime, here I am.

So I propose 2 things that basically walk hand in hand, but they are not dependant on the other.

I propose that:

A. you be able to convert up to 50% of your exp to LP(only 1 time every 24 hours)
B. as you do stuff related to the skill, you get % points to be able to buy the next skill for up to 50% off(IE: you farm some crops and you accumulate 4% off your next skill point in farming)

now mind you not every skill will have a benefactor(only one i can see that this would effect is stealth). as well as you couldn't got like 50% in like a hour's worth of work.
what do you all think?

I believe that would become obsolete as soon as you discover Mirkwood and crush your first herd of chickens.

Even disregarding the enormous advantage this would give to all the botters (making skill-o-matic bots pretty much mandatory), I feel very bad about this idea. When you're past your character's midgame, every skill point costs, in average, ~20k LP (and your exp would rarely go higher than 4-5k, and you're making 'round 200k LP per day -- do the math for that "A" idea yourself =)) - so, if i had a way to halve the amount of LP I need - I would use it to the maximum. So, all in all, this would give a slight advantage to new players, the benefit would grow exponentially as the character levels, and would save a tremendous amount of time and resources closer to endgame. I can't say we have a problem with reaching endgame as it is now, we have a problem with activities after we reach it.

So - nay, this would not be a good mechanic to implement.

I agree that the curiosity system provides some strange incentives.
