Palisades should be slowly losing soak, becoming bashable.

Thoughts on the further development of Haven & Hearth? Feel free to opine!

Palisades should be slowly losing soak, becoming bashable.

copy&paste of my idea from another thread

Maybe palisades should be very slowly losing their soak so after like 2 weeks they become bashable with capped strenght and then slowly becoming bashable with lower STR, stopping at some point. That would give players enough time to build a brickwall and would prevent fully developed players to live in palisades forever becouse they're cheaper.

Better idea: Characters should lose 1% of stats and attributes each day in case they're over 50% of cap.

why should i be punished for taking a break from the game?
this would not make me want to come back after the break if i would lose 50% of stats after the hard grind i did before
adds more chores tbh
There was a wise soviet conscript that was surrounded by the enemy on the battle of Stalingrad. A mortar shot teared his pants apart causing a big hole in his pants right on his right butt cheek. He felt a glorious cold ass breeze of wind on his butt cheek, like it would be sent by stalin himself, he said - hide your butts

I think you can stay on topic please. If you want to make other suggesting you will make new thread for this one. This is not even remotely related to this topic as I can tell.

On-topic: Notion seems good. Is only reasonable suggesting about how to make both palisade and brickwall viable that I have seen for ever I think.

Why should ~80% of server population being punished for <5% of it being bored?

Well, in all fairness, at the moment there is little to no reason to bother yourself with a brickwall; palisades are cheaper and faster to build and basically carry the same function. The suggestion is viable, if only to bring back brickwall's value.

What would be the point of making a palisade if it becomes papersade later on? I feel palisade should be a stage of development not a placeholder.

The point would be to make yourself protected for long enough time to build a brickwall. It would be a stage of development - next one being a brickwall, which is actually just a placeholder for now.

One could argue that they should be easier to break with a wercking ball compared to brickwalls, I could live with that.

I could also live with walls being breachable with a wrecking ball (maybe even with reduced drying time to make the breach successfull) with shield up, no cascade damage so only a 1 tile gap (could get some graphical changes on the wall tiles directly adjacent to it, like piles of rubble around them) and passing through that gap gives you a debuff that only allows trespass and theft - with severe enough debuffs for the actual act of theft so you don't carry away the whole village - and initiating combat only should you hold a scent (theft or above) of someone.

Something like that would be way more fun than destroying the all non-competition mindset characters on the server as the OP suggests.

I disagree with you ozzy, unless there is a transition wall that is easier to build, I do not think palisade should be temporary. Granted I do believe that it is a too sturdy at the moment for its price but before that we do need another wall stage for those that are not as well developed to rely on first.
