"Brace Shield"

As a fix for archery, or a part of it, i thought this would be cool.


Currently, you can place signs to block archers from shooting you- it's actually a pretty cool mechanism even if unintended. I was thinking, why can there not be an action you can use called "brace shield", that raises your shield to whatever direction you point to? When in this stance, you can't move- but you and ctrl-click to move and slowly move in a direction (exactly the same like you can when aiming a shot).

When raising your shield towards a direction, you either completely blow arrows coming from that direction, or massively reduce the damage (perhaps if you are shot when moving, the reduction is lower?)

I'm not against the idea of restricting the thing to a new type of shield, "tower shield" or something- that takes damage the more arrows it blocks?
