2 server idea

2 server idea

i will keep it simple

first server - long lasting world, hard siege mechanics and current combat, maybe removed stat caps
second server - world wipe every 2-3 months, something changed in the core mechanics each world wipe, faster paced gameplay, current siege mechanics or a bit changed,the new combat, perhaps a smaller world, maybe something done with stat caps

The first server will be mainly played by people who like the crafting / building aspect of the game and the people that don't get bored of the current end game and they don't want to get their fun ruined by some pvpers or whatever with easy effort. people wont get raided by easy and cheap raids and their fun ruined.

The second server will be mainly played by players who doesn't like the current end game, loves the world beginngs/wipes, loves pvp competitive gameplay and the people that could hop in any time with others in a fresh new world anytime pretty much.

i don't like to play the current game, i only love to play it only when theres a new world - the hype, the rush, the new landscapes, starting out fresh, etc... the game really gets stall like 3 months in the world when you reach the endgame features and makes people quit the game because of the same old shit to just wait until a new fresh world, i would play on the second server.

the only downside to this i see is that the population gets divided between the servers, but its for the sake of fun

It sounds like an interesting idea, but keep in mind that this game is only run by 2 dudes who probably don't make a living off of this game

should rather keep in mind that this game has, like, 400 people playing at the same time on a good day (200 of them being bots of sorts). Won't do much good dividing the population, and I doubt there are enough no-lifers to play both suggested servers simultaneously.

how would dividing population would hurt the game tho exactly? the thing that you cannot meet someone randomly in the wilderness because the person you should have met is playing on the other server rather? the server is already divided by these 2 types of players that sit in walls, build stuff maybe go outside with a alt to forage from time to time so they are pretty much out of the "world interaction" anyway then having their base raided and made them quit, because of the other side ruining the other's gameplay
It's hard to find someone to interact with in the world even currently, so I don't see any serious downsides. I am pretty sure the populations would be like ~150-200 on the first server and 300-400 at the beginning of the new world wipes on the second server down to 100-200 at the end

It is splitting population and is bandaid fix for actual core issue with game.

so what is the actual problem with splitting the peaceful one and casual gamer population with competetive/faster paced gameplay lovers, since they only interact is when one of the side is getting his gameplay ruined and made quit?

what would splitting the population between 2 servers really cause? lets say in the current situation right today context when the world is pretty dead anyway and many people already waiting for a new world already, please enlighten me

It is hard to say what will happen. I do not think to be able prediction what the players will do. But if the server is considered dead for it to be under X daily player, splitting population will making it go under this X player faster.
