flour and seed sacks

Postby DeltaBro101 » Tue Jun 21, 2016 3:19 am

I know we can put flour in barrels but it really makes not much sense to put it in there as barrels are used for usually liquids. I suggest cloth sacks that we can use for flour and seeds. it would be also cool if they can be stacked into a pile. I can understand if this isn't liked since it doesn't make any change except for the sake of just adding it. I just find it odd that I am putting seeds in a barrel when a sack or even a grain hopper would be better.

How do you envision them to work, interface wise ?

I believe that would be an equippable 2-handslot item with a combination of: Bucket mechanic which wouldn't allow to put non-empty Sack into your inventory; Carrying an object while moving the equipped non-empty sack around; Wheelbarrow mechanics for loading from/unloading into barrels, troughs, chicken coops etc; and, finally, Raft mecnahics of being able to "attach" one full sack to one or a few others placed on the ground.

I can't think of a less complicated way to implement this athmospheric but, alas, totally unnecessary thing.

You're right that is how I thought of them being able to work.

Does not sound better then a barrel n buckets tho. Just sounds more complicated. Exactly how is it better?

I believe OP meant it would be "better" for his subjective sense of beauty or reason or something like that. He didn't mean it would actually have better functionality than a barrel.

ah lol, only if barrels and bucket were kept as is in that case. estetics for the sake of beeing pretty is fine as long as it doent mean making stuff more complicated imo. sort of like with houses n boats, ppl can make pretty ones all they want and for my part I can just spam the closest wood just like I used too.

like I said I just found it seem make more sense as flour usually is kept in cloth sacks. but hey its not like this will be added. But its fine I figured no one would support it.

Grain might be in cloth sacks, but flour will seep through the cloth...
