More low level animals.

Seeing the large combat gap from ants to bats, foxes, and badgers (the next easiest prey), makes it hard for noobs to learm to hunt, rather staying away from the fowl creatures than learning to hunt. Maybe add Crabs (high hp, sets up defenses alot, teaches the different attacking types), idk what else. Maybe I'm just being nice to nabs.

isnt ants at like 10 ua and bats at like 20? so then crabs at 15?

either way more animals wold be nice and if they cater to noobs now that archery is harder that would ofc be awsome. +1

I fought ants at the start of the game with 3 ua from bark reinforcement, ants are insanely easy. That archery nerf hurt my soul, cause with my low mm I can't ohko deer, plus with the increased drawback time.

Standing still, they only attack with two types and setting defenses for them is easy.

When I mean high, I mean, really high (for a nab), like 300. It won't run from battle, the attacks are uncommon, but do alot of damage if you're dumb and don't set up defenses. It would have alot of defensive moves, and just generally tougher, it strings out the fight and teaches better... idk the word but you know what I mean.

I'd suggest to add turtles/tortoises instead of crabs. Huge HP pool, a lot of defences, maybe even some armor class to teach noobs about it, just one type of attack with a very long CD. Zero agility, rare spawn, no loot (or maybe something casual like turtle hat substituting as a low-q mining helmet, reducing damage from caveins for 50%). So they won't be hunted on purpose and would be like training dummies to test your attacks and ability to penetrate armor.

And crabs could be "attack" training dummies, with higher agility but extra low base dmg. Because of that no loot as well.
