Metal and bone would be fine I believe. Although, using leather you would be able to spiral it in a sense. It'd be pretty damn time consuming though.

Not that material-consuming as spiraling metal. Would be a nice feature.

Mostly in the sense that you'd need to wait for the hides to dry and tan. The action itself wouldn't be so bad.

Bone. metal nuggets (hard) and either block of wood or even antler for handle, capped with Surv, Dex and perhaps Smithing

I hope devs add universal tool that does everything and acts as a weapon too.
