FEP System

While FEPs are cool, I think a problem lies in them. You don't just eat food and get stronger, you use those nutrients to develop your body. What I think should happen with FEPs is, instead of getting direct increases from eating food, it increases a certain cap, which than can be reached by doing certain things, Perception from Studying/Using Bow, Strength from Fighting/Mining, Dexterity from Crafting, Agility from Fighting/Running, Psyche from Crafting/Collecting Resources, etc. This does not mean that doing said thing would increase the stat without any prerequisites, you would need to eat food to increase the max stat, than do an action to basically work out the stat, and increase it.

I have nothing against the system now, just something cool. :mrgreen:

Wow, this is... actually a great idea. Eat a few Bear Bangers - "You have accumulated +1 STR points. To activate it spend A*120 stamina by hard labor or deal a total of A*100 damage with UA or MC", where A is your actual stat value (or some coefficient based on actual stat value). That way to go from 250 STR to 251 STR (or 252 if you've gathered a +2 proc) you'll have to spend 30000 stamina or deal 25000 damage (a very reasonable numbers, considering you already have 250 STR). This will surely shut up those who cries that statcap is "too reachable" or "salt is OP".

Let's look for potential downsides now. It will require some more thought but overall I like this idea very much for W10.

@OP: did you actually wait 'til monday to put it out because jorb tends to go on a "considering" streak on tuesdays? >.<

I like it as an idea, it brings a feeling of accomplishment when you gain +1 strength from mining versus just from eating food. While just eating is great I feel this adds some meaningful depth to the play experience.

You can't bot more than you've accumulated as FEP, this will actually make it like 40% harder to spawn dozens of single-purpose alts. And it wasn't about Carpentry or skills in general, it's about stats.

You can't bot more than you've accumulated as FEP, this will actually make it like 40% harder to spawn dozens of single-purpose alts. And it wasn't about Carpentry or skills in general, it's about stats.

Still it gives lot of advantage.

What advantage? It's strictly a nerf as it is presented, but a decent nerf. You have to eat food to get a pool of points you can earn, instead of just earning them immediately like in the current system. Then to draw from the pool you do activities linked to those stats. So gorge on cheese and troll meat to get your strength pool up then go mining to actually gain strength.

It is nerf for someone who does not use automation. But depending on implementation it might be not a problem for bots at all. So in terms of difference bot-users against general players it might be huge advantage of first ones.

PS But generaly speaking idea looks like a nice game experience. I love TES 3 learning system.

What prevents people from botting mining or other tasks.
People who bot can build supports on 1 character while bots are mining on 5 others.
Huge advantages for them.
