Non steel metal armor

Postby Qeeet » Sat Jul 09, 2016 9:15 pm

Besides steel armor (legs, hands, chest, helm), bronze (only helm and chest) and leather (chest, legs, helm) there are no other armor.
I would like to see bronze legs/hands armor, chainmail coif/gloves/leggins.
The problem for me is that leather pants is weak for me now. Good quality steel is hard to make, besides it reduces a lot of agility so that it could have more cons than pros for me.
I need some leggins, which are better than leather pants.

Would you please <hide> the pics? Maybe it's just me but it's annoying to scroll through a few screens' worth of pictures every time you open a thread. Thanks in advance.

Now for the point. Yes, we definitely need more items ingame. More variety and more different looks. But right now adding them will just add few more icons to crafting menu that will be rarely (if ever) clicked on.

Now, we're waiting for implementation of all-new combat system, with attacks penetrating armor and stuff. What's better time to add usefulness to various types of armor? Let's make Chainmail armor more vulnerable to arrows but with significantly lesser AGI penalty; Bronze armor equally vulnerable to UA and MC and Archery, medium AGI penalty; Steel armor with great protection from UA, medium vulnerability to Archery and MC and great AGI penalty. Well, something along these lines, anyways - so you could choose your gear against agile UA fighter, heavy MC knight or Archer.

tl;dr simply adding a lot of new armor items won't be enough, we need specific uses for every piece.

Cannot get what do you mean "won't be enough", for what?
Right now we have no mid pants, we have steel pants which reduces agility significantly. I have 50 agi now, -10agi is too much for me right now. I need something better than leather pants.
Some chainmail/bronze pants with -4/-6agi would be nice to have.

Yes, this is true.

What I was talking about, is that even if we had a few full tiers of armor (leather/bronze/chainmail/plate), most people would just use plate after a certain threshold. Adding more stuff just to fall under that treshold seems counterproductive. If we were to have remodeled armor tiers system, I'd like to see them ALL useable at high-qualities, not just the top tier.

I agree and don't. Of cause when I get 200+ agi I would use steel armor, but until that I'd use lower tier.
