Grave robbing, afterlife items, inheritance

Postby shadyg0d » Fri Jul 15, 2016 12:40 am

What if there were valuable items that you could bury with a skeleton to increase the LP inherited, like the Egyptians did or some shit. What if you only inherited LP over a period of time, and having your corpse removed would cease to grant LP? What if graves could be dug up with a shovel and those items/skulls stolen? What if graves from high LP characters influenced the soil quality? What if the location grave relative to landmarks or quality of soil influenced the LP gain? What if robbing graves had a chance of that corpse haunting you? What if you could do a ritual to resurrect burried corpses with a loss of LP?

There is a lot of cool stuff that could be done with this

too cheap way to get lp back and these other ideas are weird but maybe tradition and change slider reimplemented could be something good

It would require a re-balance of the current system. idk I just mainly like the idea of digging up graves

Walling their own grave? Nothing. It would just be harder to get to.

But here's another idea. Maybe there could be some disadvantage to building graves nearby like ghosts or something, requiring cemeteries to be built and protected rather than placing graves all over your village

+1 to idea, I think It would be nice to have cemeteries. I think ghosts should only spawn if there's multiple graves, or if they're untended for long. Like a single grave that well-kept, like inside a person's (not village) claim, would be fine, but graves all over, would spawn ghosts, and depending on the power of the deceased, it could do increasingly powerful things, such as increase the times of random things (tanning, baking, etc), steal things from containers, all the way to haunting you (attacking you), which could be stopped by offering to the spirit or destroying the grave, which the latter would anger the ghost and make it attack until killed (maybe silver weapons?).
Pleased ghosts? I don't know, replenish energy, give experience, give short stat buffs, reduce the time of certian activities?
There has to be some lore in Nordic mythology about undead/ghosts, so idk.
Suck me good and hard thru my jorts

I kind of like the aesthetic of grave cairns. Don't really think we need to have them away from villages or anything, just seems like tedium.

I've built little graveyards out in the wilderness before.

Aesthetic.
