Light fire - pain in an ass

Postby Qeeet » Sun Jul 17, 2016 12:32 pm

Sometimes I spend 400% of energy in order to make fockin fire, tons of branches.
Make it in that way so I could 100% light at least one thing, and make it faster as well.
It's not enjoyment at all to light fockin fires.

Make a torch, light it with the firebrand, light a fire with the torch and keep it going.
Or make some Flint and Steel in case you have already found iron.

I light up my fire to often to invest so much time in making steel. I dont have over 9000 ovens/smelters/etc, I usually need to light up only one object.

You don't need to fire it "often", you use flint&steel once a day to light a fireplace, and the use torch to extend the fire from fireplace whenever you need it.

my base is spread over quite large area: smelter is there, oven is over there, fireplace is over there.
The thing is that lighting branches doesn't guarantee success. I want to see that lighting those fockin branches guarantee success for at least lighting one object

See, now, this is just bad planning =))
Anyhow, maybe you would be better off putting a few fireplaces. And a torch is surely useful in that matter.
As for firing branches being ridiculously stamina-consuming and unreliable, I think that's intentional and not going to change, because that would just make torches and flints mostly obsolete and noone would bother to use them.

You know, I invited my brother to play with me this game a month ago. I demonstrated him a game, and when it came up to eat something, I decided to cook chicken for him. When he saw that I lit up fireplace on 3rd tried he says fock this game. Since that he hasn't logged in.
Devs, think about it. Pains in the ass have to be removed or shrank.

1) It's supposed to be a "pain in an ass".

2) With the layout you are talking about you should be able to build and use torches.

3) Have a burning fireplace stocked with branches and know when you need to refill it (which is not immediatly, since you can still light a new fire if it has enough heat).

4) If you brother is scared by firemaking, why don't you tell him about the more nicer things of this game;
Like dying because a bear raped your char.
Or a lynx.
Or a boar.
Or a badger.
Or 3 bats.
Or another Player.
