so heavy earth chance of becoming ore is 6% iron ochre is 12%
heavy earth takes lot longer to mine (only tested this with a hatchet) then iron ochre. wouldnt it make sense if heavy earth was mined faster and gave less chance to becoming ore and iron ochre taking more time to mine and higher chance of becoming ore?

This is wrong. The strengh/time you need to mine something is a seperate layer, like for example the quality layer, that applies to both nodes differently but without checking what type of ore it is.

Speed of mining varies from location. In some places heavy earth is mined faster than iron ochre on the same underground level. "Hardness" of ore has nothing to do with possible metal yield.
