Recycling

In the old days people pretty much used every little bit of just about everything, also recycled and re-use everything.
I think it would be cool that when you decide to destroy something you own to build a better one, or just because it's in the way, that you'd get a small %
back of the materials. Not a lot, just a bit.
Also I think metals should be recyclable with a certain loss %. Colonists were recycling iron all the time, a horseshoe may have been many things before being a horseshoe.
So basically if you have a bunch of Q50 tools and you end up with better ones, it would be fun to be able to cast them in the smelter and get a bit of bars back
even if they have to be a bit lower quality, at very worst you use them for mine columns.

Yes, and one already discussed long and wide.

yes, last time around the conclusion about item qualities was that it would be way to taxing on the server for it to remember every items q, for some reason. that proposal also included recykling of houses tho iirc, and thats probably why it got weird.

a return of a small amount of items, and for all those items q at 10, when recycling would be fine by me tho. better that then to just sacrifice to the water/ground gods and let shit despawn.

I agree that it could be neat, but it is pretty maintenance intensive and possibly ugly.
