Gathering tar

I think may be cool to gather pitch or tar from swamp areas, maybe by digging like we do in mountains or by filling buckets and then let the brackish water dry. Tar is also used in making some kind of boats and other water-resistant items.

for sure i am, but i just like to have more tar, kiln alone does not produce enough or as easily as just gather it.

It's not too hard to run 5 or 6 of them at all times and that's enough to build a mansion every few days. I think that's right. It's about a barrel and a quarter to make enough tar sticks for a mansion. I don't think I ever felt like tar was too restrictive in quantity, especially since it's mostly a passive resource, so I disagree with making it too readily available as that invalidates sources such as the tar kiln.
