Criminal Pardons

I searched for a while to see if anyone had suggested something like this before and maybe I didn't search well enough, so forgive me if it's been suggested in the past. I am still very new to HNH!

In light of the release of Kingdoms in Haven making the game a bit more diplomatic...
I think a criminal pardon system would be really cool within personal claims and village claims. Obviously jurisdiction over a realm claim is too powerful.

ex. Soandso commits a crime inside a village claim. Someone with LS privileges could find that scent and right click to either 1. Track or 2. Pardon

Pardoning the crime removes the scent and the outlaw debuff from the criminal.

This idea came to me while on my character I left a theft scent on a friendly village while picking up apples. Now I can't log off for a few days just because I picked up a couple of q10 apples from my neighbors village.
the car's on fire and there's no driver at the wheel
and the sewers are all muddied with a thousand lonely suicides
and a dark wind blows

You shouldnt of been a dirty thief then. You are just lucky they didn't kill you for your crimes.
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

I see some potential for abuse, guy commits crimes against someone under his own realm/village and pardons himself. It's an interesting idea though.

Well, say you became a mayor of somebodies land, and committed a crime, do you think you would be convicted?

this would not be a bad idea-
but as others would say it would be easily abused.

in the case of DIS and their trade city.
if ladygoo wanted to steal someone rare items from a safe house, or kill someone who has come by.
-this idea would basically end the age of trade.
HnH is already so distrusting- this can add to it :/

Perhaps not but I think in this game the possibility to erase a crime entirely would be a rather powerful tool. I like the idea but it would have to be thought about carefully.
