Tanning Tubs

Small thing:
Maybe have 2 separate meters in tanning tub, one for water, and one for bark

I just keep having to trying both until i cant put anymore in, or i see a % increase.

This would make things much less confusing as I could see which material I need to put in.

Water level being sufficient is shown by the tub model (level of fluid), as is that enough bark is in it (color of fluid), iirc.

I was referring to something a bit more specific that gave me more information.
Legacy also had similar visuals,but that didn't always mean you had enough.
Maybe some percentages or something, for dummies like me.

Just make a round filling water to max and another with bark.

mix tanning fluid in barrels and then pour the barrel into the tanning tub. saves a lot of time

I'll chime in on the OP's defense to add that the tanning tubs are one of the least intuitive systems in the game for players that are just starting out. Having a UI that clues you into needing multiple ingredients (water + bark), similar to the couldron needing fuel and water, the coup needing food and water, and many other things in the game. The fact that they are not the same seems strange.
