[Questions for Jorbtar] Questions from Jorbstream

Hey Guys, some legitimate curiosities maybe you could shed some light on, i watched almost all of the stream Jorb did last year, and some questions about things that were said to come.

Couple things I'd like to note first: 1.) I'm sorry if this was posted anywhere already this is merely a collection of thoughts and questions specifically localized around the stream Jorb did in November. 2.) This is by no means a thread by which to "rush things" or annoy with constantly asked questions. Just mere curiosities and statements based on things Jorb has said in the Stream, and maybe just a little reminder of things that were said and maybe forgotten.

So here we go:

• Error Messages on empty Trees/Bushes, Etc. - Is this still a thing? Would be awesome to know when something has no resources, or If I'm just not properly clicking on the hitbox.
• Being able to stand on Tower tops - This. So much This. Seriously though, I really would love to be able to stand on the top of it and put like chests on it or something if possible. Would be amazing!
• Dancing Bears - C'mon, how could this not be an awesome thing?!
• Swedish Meatballs w/ Lingonberries - You can't break down on a promise Jorb! I still do not see Swedish Meatballs in the game! You promised Sab! Make sure they give Charisma. kek
• Slings & Rangers Bow - Well Slings are back in the game, but is there any sort of timeline for possible Marksman overhaul, or just bringing Rangers Bow back? It would be simply amazing!
• Two Tile Stone Wall or Stone Wall in General - The current defense mechnism feels slightly odd that you can't build some sort of Stone Wall. Like it goes directly from Wood to Brick. Intermediate Stone Walls in between would be simply amazing. Is this still a thing?
• Beards & Hairstyles - I think this one speaks for itself. Confirmed?
• Instruments buffing Stats to some Minor Degree - There could be some form of music sheets scattered around, and when read and played properly with the right instrument, you would gain knowledge of the song, and thus buff the Stat to some minor degree until the song is played again. Decent Idea, yeah? It was mentioned on stream and thought it would be a cool implementation.

[For Loftar Specifically] Now I'm sure Jorb(and Loftar too), you're interested in making Hafen you're main money-maker, and having it generate enough money to work on and not have a "real" job. However I had a thought for what could potentially make some money. Loftar this is where you come in

Things of that nature could promote paying for Verified accounts. Obviously people are still going to use the custom clients, because all the features are currently in the custom clients anyways. However there's a couple benefits to this. A couple being that a verified client gains access to immediate updates when they roll out, leaving all the other clients obsolete, yet at least the Verified default client would still be funtional. I know you hate coding the UI Loftar, that much is obvious but at least this way, it doesn't feel "pay-to-win" or anything, and only promotes supporting the dev team, and makes updates and waiting for clients to update less painful.

You must actually hate custom clients, and I feel like for the game to reach maximum potential for new customers, custom clients shouldn't be so "needed". Trying to figure out how the custom clients work and how to install them can be a pain in the ass for a new player. Jorb has stated on multiple occasions that his interest is to make the game the best it can be, but if you made a poll, how many people actually use the Default client? If the majority of the player-base is using the Custom Clients for one feature or another, would it not make sense to implement some of those features? You'd get the bonus of having immediate updates to the default clients after update, but also stable FPS and performance. I don't even know if this is truly feasible, but just some thoughts on the matter.


P.S: How's that CRT monitor Jorb? Still got it? I bet that thing will never die

Why company will pay for linux OS? Quality and support.

Would be stupid to take them away and make them cost money.

Because:

1.) As I said:

and I feel like for the game to reach maximum potential for new customers, custom clients shouldn't be so "needed". Trying to figure out how the custom clients work and how to install them can be a pain in the ass for a new player.

It's not intended for Veterans, It's simply a way of giving new players a more seamless entry into a better client. We all know how the custom clients work. We all know how to install them. We all know they are free. But for someone coming into the game that doesn't know anyone playing already, or is trying to figure it out, it's a turn-off. All my friends that have no experience what-so-ever cannot stand that I have to give them a 10 minute tutorial on installing a custom client. Ease of Use is a pretty big thing in gaming(I.E: Steam & why it got so big)

2.) Immediate updates to client after patches. When they patch something that needs a client update, sometimes waiting a day or two is incredibly annoying for the client to update.

3.) I'm almost 90% positive the devs abhor the custom clients. As said by Jorb at 56:00 in the stream. "Custom Clients are indeed Cancer sir, Notaspacegoat knows where it's at".

4.) Any business needs to make money. You're view might be "Why pay for something that's free". My view is that I'll support a company that gives me a product that I like.

Go back and re-read Shubla. I never said that they needed to be removed. I said that it would only offer a bonus for them to make money, and improve the default client. I use a custom client, I'm not saying I wouldn't. Please read and analyze before saying something would be "stupid".

For everyone bashing on my thoughts for a Verified Account Client:

Please stop assuming I mean "removing" custom clients. You're not reading all of what I'm saying. I do not mean removing them, I do not mean limiting them. I merely mean giving SeaTribe another faucet to make money, because honestly, the "convenience bonus" is simply not enough of a reason to throw money at it. I did because I support SeaTribe, but for most people it doesn't make sense.

If you guys don't want the company as a business to flourish as a business and your interest isn't in them making money, then you are a free-loading piece of garbage. A company doesn't succeed by giving everything away for free, a company doesn't succeed by offering everything in the game for free. Instead of bashing my thoughts and concerns of the Verified Account Client, then how about you throw some ideas in here that they might be able to use to make money? Tearing apart my ideas by saying something is stupid is not only worthless, but unnecessary and unproductive. They have a business to run, and if you want a better game, they need money. You want better server stability? They need money, you want more updates and more content? They need money. The world doesn't operate on hopes & dreams and giving everything away for free. Wake up people.

At least I'm not saying "limit" the game for money, I'm only saying offer an optional bonus, so that new players don't have to dick with trying to figure out installing custom clients, or that they have to go to the forums to figure all that out.
