Just a quick Idea that poped up a bunch of times every world in everyone's head once in a while, wouldn't it be nice to have next world generated as islands instead of a large landmass? Have each island with different vegetation, different biomes and resources? Have more open water space that would cover more map than the land, and maybe even add some sea monsters later on. That way people would start using knars for actual water travel/transporting rather than a charter teleportation vessel, and get rid of the crossroads or make them give you travel weariness debuff again, and make them work only if both ends are located in the same kingdom. Would be great to see and raid or protect caravans with goods and resources, or have some naval combat (will need overhaul because when people in a boat/knar sharing same hitbox hit you in the face all at once, it isn't fun). There can be 3, 4 or 5 islands at the beginning and then as the world expands you can add more islands, with more content on it, maybe some dangerous monsters or any other content that would be exclusive to that island only, which would trigger some pvp interest. Also please remove a possibility of using knars with charter stone/crossroads and add another way to protect ships, similar to what you did with animals.
P.S. You can even make different rules on each island, maybe one for newbies where you can't kill anyone, but everything you do takes more time and qualities don't grow as much, you could still raid and destroy villages but not kill anyone, just knock them down and give them a huge concussion, maybe even disallow making kingdoms in the newbie island. Of course you could still send nidbanes and all that jazz. Nonetheless, this might bring up more casual players into the game.
