often during sieges in ancient time thay dug under the walls to collapse them but the defenders whould light chicken feathers and smoke the enemys out (the smoke is toxic) so kinda like a smoke bomb that does small damage over time and say a bandits mask lessens the damage taken say can be thrown over walls mabye? not really a defence for digging under wall but siege defence none the less aslo atk but my mind was on the defensive value seeing as defender prob have alot more chicken feathers around

many fortresses throu out time had multi layers is def a tactic even now iv seen many places with many layers, the outer lay also act as a funnel/trap to guide enemys into the smoke mabye?

say you can light a stockpile on fire and in an area around it you take small damage type of thing no throwing but can use as short term def

You need an enclosed space like a cave to use that kind of tactic.
I think narrow mine shafts should have the possibility of asphyxiation maybe due to natural gases or a controlled chicken feather fire.
This wouldn't do much outside as its just a visual obstruction because of area being ventilated by open air.

i like that keep it to its historical use and only smoke people out in caves, iv been told blocking visuals its highly unlikely but mabye chould do less up above ground or way smaller area of effect
