If we implement ways to make horses harder to kill, would it make sense to have pole arm weapon to that may have chance to hook horseman off horse as a balance?

The moment your eyes meet someone, you have initiated contact. In essential, it is a constant non-stop flow between two or more entities.

Yes barding should be added at some point. Let's continue to test combat first however before introducing mounted combat in full.
