Village census

Time to try myself with ideas…

Disclaimer:
This is not something which is currently crying to be implemented, so will fit a niche of future developments and new stuff.. given jorb & loftar will like the idea. Heh.

Name: Village census

Purpose:
  • To give Realm villagers some reliable means of letting their realm militia about the fact that they belong to the kingdom.
  • Enhance ‘realm – citizen’ interactions

Brief description:
  • A village Lawspeaker can create a parchment with list of the villagers whom he wants to be known to the crown that they belong to his village (by personally meeting with villagers or through his kin list)
  • A realm representative (with proper rights) can take said parchment and apply it to coronation stone thus adding the information to the system or overwriting! The existing one from the same village if that exists. Parchment is consumed in the process.
  • To the realm representative added information only reveals the village name and allows to assign it to color group.
  • Since added all the realm village citizens will see added characters as incognito name “ (Realm) villager”, painted to assigned color. Personal relationship supersedes the realm’s.
  • A pile of other rules\regulations\belongings not included yet as they only matter is idea is picked up.

Conclusion:
System..
  • .. still allows other random encounters with ‘unknown’ players, be that an intruder, a guest or a new villager who didn’t get listed.
  • .. motivates Lawspeakers to keep their head count actual as villagers who won’t get into fresh charter – will lose their status.
  • .. gives realm owners some sort of picture about their realm and given the ‘last updated’ criteria - even more detailed.
  • .. and it still allows for Lawspeakers to have ‘unlisted’ or let’s say ‘of unknown origin’ villagers.. which are included in the charter…

Please, criticize. I hope we can enhance the idea.

If I reading this correctly, your idea is like an engravement to the stone that the realm leader can put up meaning it's the counsel or the representatives for said realm?

Some more kingdom management is nice and would engage more people into the kingdom's life. The main issue is being able to moderate the information about the kingdom which is visible to everyone. I have suggested similar stuff some time ago.

Kind of, but not exactly.

It's a way to show to realm representatives that you belong to their Realm.
Actually.. scratch that... one can go wild with this idea even further --> it's a way to show representatives of ANY chosen realm who you are and allow said realm to assign you color code in bulk.
You might choose to list all your villagers and send the paper to Your realm cause you have more interactions there and list only your scouts and send it to another realm. hoping that they won't mark them as KOS as they promised not to do... :)

The idea is to engage villages as entity into the interactions with realm and to somewhat mitigate those topics on forum saying "I leave in their GRID and they said they are peaceful, then killed me, then said it was by mistake".

Note: it doesn't block any of that from happening, all the politics and dirty games are still possible and I intentionally made sure in the odea not to block them. The more ways and layers of interaction - the better.

Under this one i've tried to cut down the ways of shown stuff to others.
At it's bare minimum - this proposal is only to realm's representatives use.

Actually it can by easily expandable to general 'outside relationships' tab where villages are the units of application and any Lawspeaker can set relations to said village.
Yes... it's a good idea, so individual villagers dont have to memorize all other village or have cupboard of pages with individual descriptions.

From another hand I don't want to make this as easy as adding a village into the list and setting the color code to it. This gives to much automation to the process as much as automatically will mark anyone in the village. Even those whome villagers might not want to disclose.
Based on this goal I came up with the requirement that it should be the initiative of the village Lawspeaker to decide and add his villagers into the list.. and once in a while create a new one to update the records with others.
Ok, in the condition this is a more global feature - to set relationships between villages in general... then amount of these parchtments potentially might grow... then it is good to add a copy option.
Otherwise - no copy. number of realms folks care about is not huge. More games decisions on whome to update and with what.

Also that's why parchment should be destroyed on use and also that's why second application of a parchment from the same village will copletely overwrite records from the last one.

I have suggested similar stuff some time ago.

I think I've seen it.
Was it about publishing authority level of the kingdom to also try to bust spy games?
