Well, if the fire is on the claim then it would be protected by it anyway (while authoritly lasts).
But I thought about 30 or 45 (RL) days of inactivity before they turn (should have written that), wouldn't a claim not also be be empty after time?

Palisades decay at an incredibly slow rate, specially when the area isn't being loaded

The hf would have to last much longer than the palisade while on a dead claim, and at that point it would hardly go noticed as a mechanic

I'm okay with it though... I'd also like it if completely dead claims had their wall soak lower as time goes on, so we can bash in to old places :D

Part of the suggesting is to eliminate this issue.

Agreed.

I think the OP is well thought out and I definitely would like to see this addition.

nice suggestions, adding this with some moving resources nodes, there would be less reasons for regular resets

I really feel like this is a pun on a A Plea for Moderation. Triggered.
“We still, alas, cannot forestall it-
This dreadful ailment's heavy toll;
The spleen is what the English call it,
We call it simply, Russian soul.”

An idea to consider: Tedium, a Feature.

Would be nice, but difficult because reasons.

in the case of hearthfire decay, I would have a HF work like a construction item with a high decay counter. as long as the claim is alive, all decay hits are ignored. once the claim goes dormant, it can start accepting decay hits and after so many, it poofs and the person is subject to the standard issues of logging without a HF.
