Remove Name Confusion of Hell Patch

Postby Ysh » Fri Dec 02, 2016 5:37 pm

I have been in some situation like this:

1. Have some friend from many year.
2. Knowledge of his insanity is cause for recommending.
3. Sent him links to Haven game.
4. He goes to play this one.
5. Asking some question of mechanical basis.
6. Scour these patch notes for solution to trouble.
7. Many solution is found.
8. Checking dates and cross reference postings.
9. Work out which it is current.
10. Endow friend with knowing.

I think that patch note should have version numbers to it. Every software is using this number for easy tracking of current and past state. I do like funny namings for patch, this should stay. But also assigning official version to it. Can be useful for when discuss patch, the men can know which order these patches came without need to look to forum and cross reference postings. Especially since the forum is in order of most recent post, not order of thread created. It can be hard to follow order of change when some mechanic is change frequently. Plus when you release patch of new major version, the men can rejoice in their knowing that this is the big deal.

Something like
Game Development [<version>]: Title
could be sorted by subject in case <version> would monotonically increase and sort alphanumericly (like YY-MM-DD would do).

Yeah, a simple date in front of the patchnotes would help, but the forum's search function allows you to do this aswell:
search.php?keywords=Game+Development&terms=all&author=jorb&fid%5B%5D=39&sc=1&sf=titleonly&sr=topics&sk=t&sd=d&st=0&ch=50&t=0&submit=Search
Have a question? Need help? Tired of people asking questions? Haven and Hearth Wiki.

I would like to not need to go to forum to determine this thing. If I am talk to somebody, I will like to have version number to use to associate patch with order automatic.

If you cared about me you'd have no troubles remembering my memorable patch names.

Care more.
