Now that we have variable FEP based on food, I'd like to see differen versions of animals aswell. For instance, we could have bears, black bears, grizzly bears, and polar bears. Each would have variations in fep, location, hides, and danger.

For example, a polar bear would be stronger than a Black bear, but only found on snow biomes. It's hide would be white, and it would give int fep as well as str

Best case scenario, it adds a wide variety to food, clothing, and combat.

Worst case it's just a reskin of our beloved animals for flavor

Yeah it would be cool having variations on animals...but i guess more important before than that could be an AI improvement, right now animals pretty much behave at the same way, so having only different skin and damage is cool also but i would prefer a different behave.
I know coding AI is not an easy thing, so i don't even know if there is any plan for the future on improving them, i guess not....but if Loftar are you reading this i would like to know if you are ok with the current AI, or if you have any plan to improve them, with the hunting related....etc..in the future.

It would be nice if they diversify the combat style of the animals, right now it is too static. It would be cool if they would run around you, and engage when the animal is about to hit, then back off if the animal need to reduce a opening, then engage you again etc....

I've been thinking about this lately, although my idea was more along cosmetic changes to domestic animals. In addition to the normal colors you could also get black and white cows, spotted horses, duroc(red) pigs, black sheep, etc etc. I like your idea too, it'd be cool to see both implemented.
