"Lead On" tamed animals

Much like the "Giddyup!" option for horses, a "Lead On" option for other livestock would be great. Leashing is clumsy for getting animals into and out of small pens, or pens already crowded with other animals also looking to sneak out. Hearthling speed could be set to a walking pace while leading, making leashing useful for longer distances.

Ideally the animal would be positioned to the side of the leader, and perhaps a free hand would be necessary to perform the action.

Not well defined.

When you right-click a horse and select "Giddyup," you move towards the horse and get onto it. Leading another animal would be essentially the same. Right-clicking the animal and selecting "Lead on" would cause you to run over to it and grab it by the scruff of its neck (maybe a new bridle item or the suggested shepherd's crook would have to be in your hand?), letting you move yourself and the animal more precisely.

When I originally posted this thread it was right after spending a good 10 minutes trying to wrangle a few escaped sheep back into their crowded pen using only "shoo" and some rope for leashing. It wasn't fun and I kept wishing I could just move them around like you can move horses.

Edit: I guess it's pretty hard or even impossible to lead an animal like a pig, sheep or cow in this manner. Maybe that's what jorb meant with his response. Halters, however, are a common piece of equipment. Often an animal must be "halter-broken," but this might be unnecessarily complicated. A halter item which you apply to an animal would allow you to lead the animal as described.
