Gift boxes distant mail

Make it possible to send gift boxes to peoples' hearthfires, at some cost of XP and/or material (such as live ducks or heartwood leaves).

that would actually be an excellent use for them, although I'd rather it be pigeons

Yes! I can send my alt metal, and then she can make swords, and take vengeance on my enemies!

Although it would be nice to be able to give gifts more arbitrarily, this would be equivalent to arbitrary item teleportation, which I am perhaps less than perfectly fond of.

To avoid that it should also cost XP from the receiver after right-clicking the hearthfire really.

--> "Do you want to receive a gift box from Venator?"

I think anyone who captures a live duck, feeds it heartwood leaves and bleeds some non-trivial XP should exploit this as they wish because they deserve it.
For a 3x3 container. It's actually rather sad.

I'd be more inclined to agree with you if it weren't for the fact that these resources can be stockpiled long in advance.

You could increase the number of ducks required. They're pretty difficult to catch, you know.

Or you could make it fly through the map towards its destination, like nidbanes do. If intercepted, also the gift box would be dropped.

Should be pigeons if anything.
