- There are no previews and has a lot of combinations (they even might add more materials in the future)
- Mistakes happen, sometimes we use the wrong materials, wasting a significant amount of materials and time if you wanted to tear it down.
So how does this work?
First thing we need is to craft an item called "Refurbishing Writ", which is made up of a single piece of "Parchment". After the writ has been crafted, materials (stone, block, boards, &c.) can be set by hovering the item on the writ then right click. This will create something like "Refurbishing writ (stone)" or whatever material that was set.
Once set, the player can now use the writ by hovering and right clicking on the chosen structure (any part of the structure will do). After that, the structure will have a sign (I can't think of any sign though XD) that it's being refurbish or renovated and can be right click to show the building interface. The interface is the same as when building the structure first but this time only the material that was set, then you may start building if you have the required materials again.
Once the renovation is done, the structure will change the look of the material you have set on the writ.
other Notes:
- Using the writ requires claim permission, also cannot be done even on criminal acts (prevents abuse) or it will need vandalism and leave scent.
- If the structure is categorized as "Houses and Buildings" , right clicking the door functions as normal.
- Other structures such as vehicles, work stations, furniture, &c. will be unusable until the renovation is done.
- You can't use the writ when someone is using the structure.
- For Knarrs, to prevent abuse, only the key holder can use a writ.
- Other vehicles might have a problem for this since they don't have a key for protection when outside of claim.
- If the structure does not contain the material set on the writ, they could add an error message or just do nothing.
Also the recipes and naming of the items in my suggestion is just a sample.
