So one thing that i've felt for a long tiem that there isn't too many things that are truly rare or you would have to work hard to obtain. Let's talk about minning, on level 5 you can't go 20 tiles without finding ore. Gold? Mine for 2 hours straight you'll find it. Getting precious metals in w9 I personally didn't bother smelting anything other than leaf ore and horn silver. And I would only smelt it if i was running out, most of the nodes I would just leave behind because I had too much already. In Old Haven finding gold was one of the greatest thing that could happen to you, especially early in the world. You could just quit working and live the life of luxury, buying anything you wanted with that gold. Same goes for natural resources. It used to be just a couple of really good nodes of clay/water/soil in the whole world. And it served as one of the major bases of trade between villages then. Now it's so common no one buys it anymore, no one even botheres to claim most of the nodes. I think the devs don't realise how much of the "end game" is lost because of this. The game needs more rare things. Like let's say a type of rock that looks great on buildings or as pavement but it's as rare as leaf ore right now. How about a super rare type of tree, there would be only a dozen of them in the beginning of the world, but you could make a unique piece of furniture out of that tree that you couldn't with any other type of wood. Rare animals, rare bushes, rare plants whatever. It doesn't have to be something rewarding in a practical sense, just something you could put on the wall and take a screenshot of. And how about jewels btw? Super rare stones you can sometimes find while minning and gild your weapons/armor with?
