I would very much love to see the systems that were recently added being more fleshed out/bugtested either before the new world, or very early in the new world.
Specifically, push-out mechanic, Obj. controlled objects, realms and quests.
- Push out mechanic is the obvious one — as already stated here, i would like not to get stuck permanently/delete my character via some obscure new interaction early world.
- Obj. controlled objects are a thing to come — hoping for walkable towers, walls, bridges, component-based housing and the like. Cheap bridges are very important early game, at least with the current rather silly river generation.
- Kingdoms and Realms. They are seriusly in need for some love and polishing. The things i miss the most ATM:
1. Communication problem. There is currently no way to send messages to people who move into your kingdom territory (other than the forum, and the forum is meh). Kingdom-wide Message of the Day will solve that. You could add some sort of a big horn building that will drain influence every time you use it to set the message up.
2. More diverse kingdom buffs. Current statues are cool and all, but having more types of them would never hurt, and using rare materials for them would allow trade to prosper.
More stat boosting buildings, more diverse specialization building (like -farming +mining yields etc), maybe even unique buildings like Civ wonders - only one of it allowed in the world/kingdom.
3. Kingdom roles. Another thing that could breath more life into kingdoms might be kingdom roles.
Like Master at arms with 5% MC/UA boosts or like a 5% damage increase aura, Master of Whispers that can block specific people from getting a kingdom buff on the realm territory/gain info on the enemy stats, royal herald who can use the magic horn from above, Court Minister who can buff realms influence gain from certan people/area etc, etc. - Combat clean-up. A lot of tooltips display wrong stats/wrong openings, full circle for example, and we need a rebalance of 50% of the moves that are not getting used (almost all of the attack moves expect for chop, Melee Combat block stances, etc), some nerfs to 100% UA, 0 MC, opknock->oneshot meta that currently runs.
I would love to see similar benefits but different combat styles in leveling up UA/MC specifically and both of them together. - Quests clean-up and polishing. We would like to see more interesting quests and more balanced rewards. Maybe throw in named, stronger versions of animals being generated when you pick up a quest. Have quests specifically target that animal, instead of the general type of foxes/frogs. Maybe add an option to either select, or know what kind of reward you will get before you complete the quest. Reduce the amount of quests which target other quest-givers, and add more quests that require you to do stuff, whether it craft something, kill or maybe even plant trees/grass, etc.
Just walking back of forth between trees, getting stuck on rivers is very boring.
I would also live to see some other, long-wanted things:
- Fishing rework. I dont even need to say anything. Normal fishing is dull and un-imaginative atm. Spinning minigame is even worse, and is convoluted/impossible to get stable results because of Moon phases/time of the day.
- Cave rework. We need more life in the caves. Cave biomes with different enemies/forageables, natural cave entrances into lower levels (becoming rarer and rares as you go down). More natural life in the caves - bears, foxes, snakes living in their dens on the first levels, some weird low-fantasy cave creatures living deep down. More unique cave localized resources.
