I mean when I plant beets, that sometimes the numbers go lower than original. Yet I have a higher farming score.
So unless all this time I was wrong and misunderstood the posts throughout the months, it has to do with a random -5/+5 in the equation
there should be a better formula to approach this. and if you feel waiting a certain time to try to plant again or going a mini grid away is your answer. . .

Are you referring to farming specifically?
The game has plenty of random rolls, in things like what animals and herbs spawn, and whatnot.

honestly no, though that is where I saw it the most obviously.
but it ultimately depends on how much you want your game to have chance/luck involved in it?
and considering some of H&H's more serious flaws that may never be fixed with your limited resources. having chance/luck in this game is just another thorn.
