Capping how many quests you can do per day.

Running a test character I was able to skip a lot of LP and XP grinding thanks to quests. Netting over 200k in little to no time. I think, at least at first, we should have a cap of X amount of quests per day so that we dont end up with a slew of OP characters murdering noobs right off the bat. Just a thought.

Ya, bob dole hate murderers. Why Can't we all just get along?
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

Honestly I would even go for make CA skills unavailable for 7 days. Lets get a chance to get a footing in place before we go Armageddon on everyone else lol.

Thats the thing. I managed to get to 400k LP in a matter of 4 hours goofing off. If I was serious (and I dont know if verified and sub boosts count towards it) I could get murder and 50+ UA in a matter of an hour or two then just stock pile con and str and murder a few spruce caps. Hell another couple hours I could prolly get stealth to 75+ and then I wouldnt need to worry about scents really.

I think we should go into W10 with some security, not that we ever did before, But I would like to keep some new players. How likely are you to stay in a game where your first death happened in a matter of minutes followed quickly by the second the fifth the tenth.

Honestly I can see the counter point right off the bat but I think it speeds up the rat race way too much early world. Once people are trying to play catch up im all for a free for all do all the quests at once thing. But when you can get +50% topped with the extra convenience of 150% I think it may be a little much to compete against at world start.

It's not like we won't have them without quests. Experienced players always progress much, much faster than newbies at the start of the world, and organized groups progress even much, much faster than that.

Not to mention you don't even need 50 UA to kill a newbie.

Murder leaves scents for a week. By that time (actually, much sooner in practice) people will be capable of tracking those scents.

Giving those who would power game the tools to do to significantly faster than already possible is a recipe for disaster.

Just you watch, people who will give this game a shot because its a new world, even playing ground, may end up quitting even before they had a chance to really start because of the brokenness of Questing. And since there won't be Pclaims over everything blocking your quest rock buddy, it will be even easier.

That may end up in some people getting lucky and getting lots of LP from the amount of quests they get and others getting next to no LP.

I think this is a better idea, or a daily LP cap from quests for the first 7 days, rather than capping the amount of quests you can do. Then after 7 days, it's just back to what it was in W9.
Overall, I don't really like the quest system, the rewards just feel way too random. If a new player does 5 quests all which give garbage, they'll get the impression that questing isn't worth it and give up on it.

Agreed. A better approach would be to instead cap the max amount of LP/EXP one can get from quests per day (dunno what a good amount would be, for the sake of argument let's say between 5-20K), and then if you hit the caps you can keep doing quests but you'd get the other rewards exclusively until the timer resets.

Reward from quests seems to be somewhat related to time taken and distance traveled.
