Tree that grows indefinitely

A tree that takes 4 tiles and grows slowly but practically indefinitely, yielding up to 10 logs, and subject to the same stunting randomness.

Growing one to its fullest and keeping it unchopped would certainly be an interesting megaproject.

Make it plantable from seeds that you get from Hearthwood trees, also let us carve a house into it and have it act kinda like a stone tower. maybe new cheese could be made it in 8-)

Or it can act as a portal to another world. Perhaps a permanent world that is added when certain systems are fleshed out. Have a permanent world and a rotating cycling world.
