Hunting

Finding an animal and getting near it before it runs away with speed of light is difficult.
But when you are close to it, shooting it with bow or something should be lethal. If you hit.
If you dont hit, it will run away very fast. Exceptions might apply for stuff like bears.

Or overall. Hunting should be completely reworked as a primary focus.

I think they should have stamina...and when you hit them with a projectile, they will be wounded, and wounded animals should drain stamina faster...
Maybe even some system where you can choose where to aim at the animal....head/legs/etc...you have some chance to hit him there or miss, etc...based on where you hit them different debuff for him....in short watch at URW, best hunting system ever.
Make friends with the other crabs or try to escape the bucket.

Problem is not AI nor pathfinding.
Problem is whole hunting as a mechanic. It doesnt work. It needs to be completely reworked.

+1. But probably devs should grind current sys. For example, I don't understand why animal didn't atack you when it tries run away and you reach its. Or why it break things only when it chase you but it didn't when it runs away.
I'm sure there are will be a lot of exploits in your proposal too.

Hunting is pants on head retarded at the moment, and the only way to do it with any success is cheesing the mechanics.

Why do all animals sprint away at maximum overdrive with no stamina while you can barely move 10 tiles without needing to stop and drink on forest tiles? The only way you can kill them is if you pen them in or happen to lure them into a good cliff area. And heaven forbid they run into shallows. It doesn't even phase them, while you go down to crawl speed. Might as well just swim into the water and drown yourself because it's pointless to give chase.

Boars are the only thing that are alright to kill, but that's because they're the only animal that doesn't have warp speed activated as soon as they decide to flee.
And horses, LOLOL. You can't even catch them with a horse on max sprint. It's like they have a V8 with turbo charger equipped.
The bleeding damage is alright, except when it takes the kill and you get no combat discovery (whoooole other rant there).
