Umm what was the idea behind this?
It seems more annoying than useful. Most players just change it immediately prior to kinning someone depending on the situation, so in-game names bear zero meaning now. Not that they were very useful beforehand due to dozens of accounts/chars everyone runs, but it seems much worse now.

You can present yourself as whomever to others. I find this mildly useful.

When you don't trust someone you can lie about who you are and still talk to him, pretty useful I'd say.
