Smelting caves

If you go near a smelter that is burning in a cave. You should slowly start getting asphyxiation wound.
This could be prevented by building massive fans in cave. Maybe windmills?

But windmills are like the opposite of a fan. Maybe if you tied oxen to them?

obviously you dont understand that cave plants such as your beloved glimmermoss soak up these deadly carbon emissions and provide sweet, sweet air for us to breathe.

The smoke from the smelters disappear into the oblivion of the skybox, to be absorbed by Trolls that fuel their strength with the various carbon, sulfur, and coal particles the coal releases while burning. Case closed.

Being able to run furnaces underground is key to the dwarven way of life, though?
