Drinks & satiations

I'm not really a fan of how drinks interact with the satiation system. Sure, you can use them to get that fourth satiation under fifty and reset your meat or bread or whatever important satiation you had at rock bottom, but it doesn't help you with getting Seeds & Nuts or whatever minor satiation from 50 to 49. Personally, it took me like a week of chicken chorizos and other stuff that satiates Seeds & Nuts and has useful FEPs at the same time. So yeah, lowering a satiation on purpose is quite tedious. What I'm proposing is to repurpose drinks for this: instead of having their own satiations, drinks would directly add to various food satiations to make resetting more controllable. To avoid making resetting too easy, drinks should have a significant hunger cost per sip.

As far as the actual drink variety is concerned, we have lots of different fruits (including plums :D) and we have copper, so there's a variety of rakia we could make. There's also ciders and berry wines and all sorts of good stuff we already have materials for. In fact, there's way more potential drinks than there are satiations, so to allow room for more of them and at the same time make satiation resetting a bit more involved, I think each drink should lower two different satiations. Possibly maybe even raise a third.

Either satiations or hunger needs to go. Both things penalize eating. It's stupid and makes me think fondly of the plow eating days.

a man need only strike another to make him evil."

Not a fan of satiations. The declining value of food types in survival is a bit to much. If your truly surviving variety is not a luxury you always have. It also limits play style.

Some worthwhile food for thought here. Not sure where to go with them.

Should the goal of satiation have been to disincentivise eating through several cupboards of food in one sitting:

Then they should always nerf the food just eaten, not all food does that currently as far as I gathered. I think the same moment they should also buff other kinds of food. This could be setup in the way that each debuff is a -2 while two buffs of +1 each are given, so the total amount over all areas is always the same. Add some randomness to the selection of the areas the (de)buffs are handed out to so one can't create the perfect 'eat these three and always stay at the same level', also add downsides to the drinks (getting drunk with faceplanting for blacking out, cramps from lactose intolerance hinder running speed, tea give diarrea when overconsumed and drops the pants at inconvenient moment, whatever).

That way you could get rid of the reset mechanic as it is counterintuitive, needing to eat through building disgust for a certain kind of food with exactly that kind of food dosn't feel natural.
