Mineshaft Entrance

Postby Ironfoot_Hall » Thu Mar 02, 2017 4:55 pm

We've been asking for a way to bring animals/carts/wagons etc into the mines for a long time, and I'm glad we haven't just had it handwaved in as 'sure you can do that'.

I was wondering if we might be able to build a special structure over a cave entrance that creates a 'mineshaft' entrance.

I figure it would require significant amounts of stone, timber, a bar of metal or two, and a pickaxe to complete?

Once complete, it would enable us to move between the surface and caves with our conveyances and animals.

Or am I missing something and it's being prevented on a mechanical level?

Animals can now be moved into mines, so long as they are on a rope. I used a bull with a pack to help me mine a lot last world, likely will be doing so again once I get the stuff to make a pack for my new bull.

Somehow I missed that! Oh well, would still be nice to be able to move carts in and out (That's still not possible right? If it is I'm doing something wrong)

Would, if nothing else, be cool as a visual upgrade.
